Last week focused on Venus and her ability to stay grounded while also taking a long look at relationships. deciding what things are good for us and what's not good for us. And then, once things are sorted, cutting away the things that are no longer needed. All while Mercury and Jupiter worked together to keep us optimistic that these moves will be what's best for us in the long run.
This week, Mars takes over.
Mars has been in Pisces since early March, moving through fog, acting on intuition and emotion rather than direct strategy, fighting battles that couldn't quite be articulated clearly. That ends Thursday when Mars enters Aries and comes home. Mars rules Aries. This is where he's comfortable, direct, and operating at full capacity. The shift is immediate: from compassionate but unclear action to decisive, courageous, "I know what I want and I'm going after it" energy.
Before we get there, Sunday brings the Sun square Jupiter. Tension between what you want (Aries) and what everyone else needs (Cancer), optimism that might be overblown, and growth that requires facing limitations first. Wednesday, Mars sextiles Uranus while still in Pisces, offering gentle breakthrough opportunities if you reach for them. Then Thursday, Mars enters Aries and everything changes. Friday closes the week with the Last Quarter Moon in Capricorn asking what you're committed to building and what needs to be released.
The spirits suggest you pay attention to Thursday. Mars hasn't been in Aries since early 2024. When he comes home, action gets real, fast, and unapologetic.
Sun Square Jupiter (Apr 2 - Apr 8; Exact Apr 5)
Right away this week starts with a bit of pullback from the one before. Venus was telling us to focus on ourselves and what we need, to ground and build stability. Now the Sun in Aries wants to charge forward. He's very central to our sense of self, after all, and Aries doesn't do patience. However, Jupiter is sitting there over his shoulder in Cancer saying, "That's all fine and good, but what about everyone else?"
This creates conflict between the two. Between self and belonging to the collective. Between "I need to do this for me" and "but they need me to show up for them." Squares don't resolve easily, they create friction that demands navigation.
This is going to be a time to be careful about going too far in either direction. Don't fall into overconfidence and charge ahead assuming everyone will just adapt to your needs. But also don't just say yes to everything in order to keep the peace and avoid being seen as selfish. Jupiter in Cancer can make you feel guilty for prioritizing yourself. The Sun in Aries can make you forget other people exist at all.
The curator notes this is a balance problem, not a pick-a-side problem. You need both. Independence AND connection. Self-focus AND consideration for others. The square just makes it uncomfortable to hold both at once.
Mars Sextile Uranus (Apr 4 - Apr 12; Exact Apr 8)
This is the last day before Mars takes his steps into Aries. Moving into this aspect with Uranus over in Taurus, we're seeing a gentle shift; one last useful thing Mars does before leaving Pisces entirely.
Mars in Pisces makes action uncertain, like walking through fog. You can't see exactly where you're going or plan three steps ahead. But here's the thing: the fog is important in this case. Not seeing clearly means you aren't so focused on one point off in the distance that you miss what's right in front of you. You might happen upon something that, while not what you expected, is helpful nonetheless. A door you didn't know was there. An opportunity that only appeared because you weren't rigidly following a map.
Uranus in Taurus brings the unexpected. Sudden shifts in the material, physical, financial realm. Mars in Pisces brings intuitive action and emotional courage. The sextile between them says: try something unconventional. Follow the pull even if you can't explain why. Take a step you wouldn't normally take.
Sextiles are polite, they offer but don't demand. You have to reach for this one. But if you do, Wednesday might surprise you with exactly what you needed without knowing you needed it.
The curator notes this is Mars's goodbye to Pisces. Tomorrow, the fog clears and action gets direct. Use Wednesday's gentleness while you have it.
Mars enters Aries (Apr 9)
Thursday, Mars comes home.
Mars has been in Pisces since early March. Moving through fog, acting on intuition and emotion, fighting battles that couldn't quite be articulated, pursuing things that felt right without knowing exactly why. That was fine. Necessary, even. But it's over now.
Mars enters Aries on Thursday, and the shift is immediate. Mars rules Aries. This is where he's comfortable, direct, and operating at full capacity. There's no more fog, no more "maybe," no more waiting for the right feeling or divine timing. Mars in Aries knows what he wants and goes after it. Now. Not later. Now.
Action gets fast. Motivation becomes crystal clear. Courage replaces confusion. If you've been stuck, uncertain, or passively waiting for something to shift Thursday brings the energy to just do the thing. Start the project. Have the conversation. Make the move. Mars in Aries doesn't overthink. He acts.
This isn't gentle. Mars in Aries is impatient, competitive, pioneering, and occasionally aggressive. He's excellent at starting things but gets bored easily once the initial challenge is gone. He wants independence, doesn't wait for permission, and has a very short tolerance for obstacles or delays. Anger comes quickly (but also leaves quickly). So does courage.
The curator notes that Mars hasn't been in Aries since early 2024, over a year. You might have forgotten what it feels like to have clear, direct, unapologetic access to your own desire and willpower. Thursday reminds you. Use it to initiate what's been waiting. Build momentum. Take brave action.
Just don't assume everyone else is moving at your speed. They're not. Mars in Aries will need to remember that other people exist and have their own pace.
Last Quarter Moon in Capricorn (Apr 10)
Halfway between the full moon and the new moon we have the Last Quarter. It is at this point that we assess what we've been letting go and how it's gone so far. Are you following through, or did you already abandon it? Are you building toward something real, or just enjoying the feeling of having started?
This time the moon is in Capricorn, and as such the subject of the day is stability, structure, and long-term action. What have you been doing, and what have you been letting go of that contributes to your long-term goals? We're not looking at immediate gratification with this one. These things take time, and you have to stick with it regardless of how easy or hard it is in the moment.
The beginning feels exciting. That's Mars in Aries energy talking, all courage and initiation and "let's GO." But soon it gets murky. The initial rush fades. The work becomes work. That's where Capricorn lives, to remind us to do the responsible thing for a change of pace. To show up consistently even when it's not exciting anymore. To build something that lasts instead of chasing the next shiny thing.
Friday, the day after Mars enters Aries and everything feels fast and urgent, the Last Quarter Moon in Capricorn says: slow down. Be strategic. Commit to what you're actually willing to work for, and release what you're not.
The curator notes this is excellent timing. Mars in Aries will want to start seventeen new things. Capricorn asks which one you're actually going to finish.
What is a Void of Course Moon?
Think of the Moon as the cosmic "Project Manager" of our daily lives. As it travels through a zodiac sign, it "talks" to other planets (making aspects). The Void of Course period begins the moment the Moon finishes its last conversation in one sign and lasts until it enters the next sign.
It’s a time when the "weaver has dropped her thread." Because the Moon isn't making any new connections, the energy is "adrift."
What to do:
Rest and Routine: Perfect for chores, cleaning, or mindless admin.
Reflection: Excellent for journaling or meditating.
Finish what’s started: Wrap up old projects rather than launching new ones.
What to avoid (if possible):
Big Launches: If you start a business or launch a product now, it may "go nowhere."
Important Signatures: Contracts signed in the void often need to be revised later.
First Dates: The "vibe" might be hard to pin down.
Void of Course Times: Apr 5 - Apr 11, 2026 (EDT times)
Apr 5 - 17:28 until it enters Sagittarius at 19:32
Apr 8 - 5:51 until it enters Capricorn at 8:05
Apr 10 - 18:23 until it enters Aquarius at 19:56

Tarot Card of the Week
Strength
"I have the courage to act boldly and the wisdom to act kindly. My strength comes from control, not force."
Strength shows up this week; a woman gently closing the jaws of a lion. Not through force or dominance, but through patience, compassion, and quiet confidence. The lion doesn't fight her because she's not fighting him. She's working with his nature, channeling his power rather than trying to break it.
Thursday, Mars enters Aries and comes home. Raw power, direct action, courage, and impatience all become immediately accessible. Mars in Aries is the lion; pure instinct, pure drive, ready to charge at whatever he wants. That's not wrong. That energy is useful, necessary even. But Strength appears to remind you: having power and using it wisely are two different things.
Mars in Aries wants to act NOW. Strength says yes, act, but with control. Be courageous, not reckless. Be direct, not aggressive. Start things, but don't burn everything down just because you can. The card shows mastery, not through domination but through understanding your own nature and working with it instead of against it.
Sunday's Sun-Jupiter square asks you to balance independence with connection. Friday's Capricorn Moon asks you to commit to building, not just starting. Strength sits in the middle saying: you have the power. You have the courage. Now use it with patience and compassion, for yourself and others.
The curator notes that the lion in the card isn't defeated or broken. He's calm because he's being met with respect, not violence. Mars in Aries will give you plenty of fire this week. Strength teaches you how to channel it without burning yourself or everyone around you.
Be brave. Be gentle. Both.

Closing Reflection
Last week was Venus's show; grounding love, revealing what's balanced in relationships, transforming what's comfortable but hollow. This week, Mars takes over and the energy shifts entirely.
Sunday brings tension between what you want for yourself and what others need from you. Navigate it. Don't pick a side. Hold both. Wednesday offers one last gentle breakthrough while Mars is still in Pisces, moving through fog and finding unexpected doors. Then Thursday, Mars enters Aries and the fog clears completely.
Mars hasn't been home since early 2024. When he arrives Thursday, action gets direct, fast, and unapologetic. Motivation becomes crystal clear. Courage replaces confusion. If you've been stuck or waiting for the right moment, this is it. Mars in Aries doesn't wait. He acts.
But Strength appears this week holding the jaws of a lion, reminding you that having power and using it wisely are different things. Mars in Aries will give you fire, courage, impatience, and the urge to charge ahead immediately. That's useful. But controlled power is more effective than reckless force. Be brave, yes. Be bold, absolutely. But don't burn everything down just because you can.
Friday's Last Quarter Moon in Capricorn asks which of the things you're starting you're actually willing to finish. Mars in Aries loves beginnings. Capricorn asks about follow-through. Choose what you're committing to and release the rest.
The curator notes that this week gives you access to raw courage and direct action you haven't had in over a year. Use it. Start things. Move forward. But remember the woman and the lion: true strength is gentle. The most powerful action is controlled, patient, and compassionate; even when it's bold.
